Review: Strong, stinky, and effective - We used this to clean a bathroom with this that was contaminated with ringworm from a foster cat. You definitely want to use it with proper ventilation as the smell is rather strong, however, the cleaner worked very well. It was very easy to apply, and remove. Just spray, leave on for a a minute or so, and wipe off. I left mine on for several minutes to ensure no fungus was left, but it removed easily, and it didn't stain any of the services I sprayed it on, including wood. This would be quite good for mildew application, and did actually remove some mildew from our grout in the shower. I wouldn't use this as an everyday cleaner, but its great when you have mold buildup or mildew in bathrooms, laundry rooms, etc. I would also make sure to use gloves, as again, this stuff is very strong.
Review: Important safety precautions necessary before working with these products... - UPDATE AFTER USING: After using these products, the AI generated safety precautions turned out to be accurate and maybe even a little understated. The RMR products work well so this isn't a negative, just something to be aware of. And always do your own fact checking and research. Work done in a kitchen. I sealed off the room from the rest of the house using inexpensive disposable drop cloths and painter's tape to attach them. One over a door, the other over an open entry way. Without, the house would have been filled with the odor of both these products. In a kitchen, remove all exposed consumables and products used in food preparation for both people and pets. Covering things in plastic also works. Keep all cabinets and drawers closed. Close the dishwasher. Keep kids and pets out of the area. Once the prep was done, I opened all four windows and opened the door into the garage. I used two floor standing oscillating fans to bring air into the area and DeWalt floor fan to blow out the enclosed area I was working in after applying the products. I used a 3M 7501 respirator which I already had on hand. Filter choice is critical. I used 3M P100 60923 filters but the 3M 60626 can also be used. As far as I've been able to determine, there aren't any disposable N95 masks suitable working with RMR-86. The RMR-141 is apparently ok to work with when using N95 masks rated for vapors - the 8247 for example. Regardless, not ideal. Use splash goggles. Inexpensive and helpful for keeping vapors and mist from making contact with your eyes. I used $12.00 KleenGuard™ A40 coveralls to protect clothing and skin. I'd suggest buying one size up. I also used chem resistant 6mil gloves. After using the RMR-86, I'd recommend letting it dry for at least an hour with forced air helping to dry it. Only then use the RMR-141. These products SHOULD NOT be mixed. I left the drop cloths hang overnight, removed them the next day. This was to prevent lingering odor from entering the rest of the house. If your heating and cooling system has intakes in the area you'll be working, turn it off until the work is done. Total cost will be around $100.00 for the safety gear but worth every penny. I'd also recommend buying only 3M products. I'm sure there other good brands but 3M is has proven over a very long time to be highly trustworthy. So, the RMR-86 and 141 combo seemed to work well. Highly recommended. Just use common sense and use the appropriate safety precautions when using them. **Q: How big of an area with a 32 ounce clean?**
A: If you need to treat a large area, I suggest using a ULV cold fogger. I purchased the Longray ULV portable electric cold fogger to kill toxic mold and spores under and in my house. We used the spray bottle of RMR-86 to clean and remove the source of mold (inner Ceramics crack in toilet was leaking water under the floorboards and house for a year), then sprayed RMR-141 directly on the wood where the fuzzy green/black mold was growing in addition to a 100% wide perimeter (about 15 sq ft) all of this within a containment tent. We still have 3/4 of a bottle left. After it dried for a couple days, we used Rot Terminator to harden and seal all of the wood. We then used the ULV fogger with RMR-141 to fog the crawl space under the whole house and a basement studio apartment where a sewer ejection pump failure resulted in a sewage water flood. A water restoration and mold remediation company hadn’t completed the necessary steps in a timely manner and didn’t complete demolition of the total directly affected walls and floor. Upstairs we used the ULV fogger with RMR Botanical to fog 3200 sq ft of living space, every inch, including all furniture, wooden blinds, window treatments, inside cabinets, closets, mattresses, etc. We only used 1.5 gallons. Then the whole house was vacuumed and wiped down to remove the dead spores. I am highly chemical sensitive due to suffering from acute mycotoxicity, and because I am a scientist/doctor who has also studied homeopathy and naturopathic medicine extensively, knew the ingredients of the botanical spray would be safe for me AND kill molds/bacteria/viruses.

**Q: You mention how the RMR-86 eats metals, what do you do about the drain in a shower?**
A: I am not sure what you mean about the drain in shower. However I have used this product every where! Its amazing. I use in the shower, sinks, on hardwood floors, baseboards, patio furniture, and on my vinyl siding on my house. I think they are just advising you to test it in small area and stating that certain materials might counteract with this product.  I will say, make sure you house is well ventilated when using, because it is really potent.

**Q: What kind of "gas mask" should be used for treating a ceiling?**
A: You want to use a 3M 6900 series full face mask with cartridges for mold and chemicals. You will also need to get a heavy duty Tyvek suit, shoe covers, and disposable gloves (you can buy a set with the suit, booties and gloves on Amazon for $10). I also suggest getting a ULV cold fogger and fogging the whole room, as live spores from the moldy ceiling will have dispersed over everything in the room, including the walls. If you don’t treat the whole room, these live spores will reinfect the space. Once you are done treating the room, remove the body protection immediately outside the room and dispose in a heavy contractor trash bag and take the sealed bag outside. Before removing the body protection, take your mask off and put in a trash bag, take it outside as well. Remove the cartridges, and use RMR Botanical to spray the mask to kill any live spores. Once the room is fogged, use a shopvac style vacuum with a HEPA filtration system and dust bag to vacuum the room top to bottom to remove dead spores. Once finished, take the vacuum outside and discard the dust bag in a contractor trash bag as well.

**Q: Just got my product and sprayed it on. I read from some that it has a strong odor. Mine has absolutely no smell at all. Is it supposed to?**
A: Good Morning
The RMR-86 generally has a stronger bleach like odor. Some don't notice the smell while others do.  The RMR-141, on the other hand, only has a slight lemon smell that is used as a tracer. This odor goes away after just a few minutes.

I managed to purchase this because our project couldn't wait +1 week delivery from Lowes/Home Depot. Amazon offered next-day shipping. Applied RMR-141 and RMR-86 and it was HIGHLY effective at removing mold. Easy application with powerful pump. Leaves zero streaks. Dries fast. Recommended wear a mask for safety, smells like bleach. Very consistant results when applying to areas such as wood. I don't consider amy other brand to get the job done as effective as RMR
