I have never had problems with the clip wearing out or breaking, and since the tip is retractable, I haven't had it break or bend either. Other than that there is no issue with this product. Other reviews claim that the led can't be changed, or that you have to force it through the front, and that is completely false. Simply pull on the eraser and it pops off to reveal a hole to put the led in. The erasers themselves can be purchased and replaced; however the replacements are a bit small. There is a fine pin stuck to the inside of the eraser. You can remove the eraser and use this to clear any broken lead. When the pencil is completely assembled, depress the top as if you were going to advance the lead. Extremely gently insert a new lead, while keeping the top depressed. I always load my 0.3 pencils from the writing end, since the lead is so fragile. All brands of 0.3 lead pencils are difficult, for most people a 0.5 or 0.7, is better. This is probably the best. **Q: I don't see the eraser.,.. How easy is it to expose it? Can you leave the eraser exposed? I typically always do that...** A: The eraser is located under the silver cap at the top. Being a drafting pencil, the eraser is very small (~4mm) and is designed for fixing small mistakes without erasing anything else.
