Some of the very popular ones flakes so bad.** A: My experience is different than the other answers on here, so I’ll chime in even though I’m responding a year after the original question. For me, this flaked enough to made my eyes water. I thought it was allergies until I got an illuminated 10x magnifying mirror, started noticing all of the tiny, tiny flakes, and connected my watering eyes to the mascara. I love my Burt’s Bees lip balm & eyeliner, so I reordered in case it was just drying out, but I had flakes even with the new tube. **Q: Do I need to wash it off like regular mascaras?** A: It comes off easily with face cleanser. Jane from the Burt's Bees team **Q: Does it run in warm weather and sting if it gets in your eyes!?** A: I've had no problems with running, but it might depending on the humidity or your sweat level. As for stinging, there has been an instance or two of my amazingly random acts of klutziness that have managed to cause some to get in my eye (yay me.) It is annoying because it doesn't belong on my eyeball, but no true stinging or pain. My eyes are super sensitive to most mascara, but this kind has not caused issues like most would. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love it! *by on Reviewed in the United States February 9, 2024* I have been on a mission to use cleaner ingredients, and figured it made sense to re-examine the mascara I was using. While I loved my previous mascara and have been loyal to it since the start of the pandemic when it was necessary to find products I could rely on getting delivered conveniently, I thought it seemed like it would give me a similar result to my last mascara after reading the reviews. I am so pleased with this mascara and so glad I tried it! It has almost a sweet scent to it also that I really like, but maybe that’s just me. (Maybe it’s the scent of the beeswax? Not sure, but I enjoy it!) It goes on really nicely and can layer well. The first time I used it, I waited too long to apply another coat because something came up while I was applying, so by the time I started to add more layers of mascara, it got a little clumpier than I had hoped. I thought that I remembered reading something in the reviews though about not letting it dry too long if you’re going to add more, and my last mascara also did that (just not as quickly), so I decided to declare user error and try again the next day. The next day, I applied all coats uninterrupted, and it went on so smoothly and beautifully. I really love it! It provides length and thickness for my lashes, which are not very long naturally. I use an eyelash curler (use might be an exaggeration, but I press lightly with an eyelash curling device for a brief moment) and I like the way the mascara can help my lashes curl and fan out nicely. I am also very impressed with how cleanly it washes off with water. I used to need to use a good amount of micellar water to remove the remaining mascara from around my eyes after washing my face. I have really not had to do that with this mascara. It has not run for me after wearing it all day, nor after a workout. I am thoroughly impressed and plan on sticking with this mascara. I love this company and use a good amount of their ingredients, so I am really thrilled with this mascara and wanted to take the time to encourage others to try it! (Note: I have not swam yet while wearing this, but am not sure when I will be swimming while wearing this in my normal life much anyway, so that is not a factor in my review.)Update a few months in: I’ve realized I do not even need to continue using an eyelash curler with this mascara and my eyelashes stay curled just from the mascara. Also, I don’t know if it is the clean formula or no longer needing to use micellar water to remove mascara, but my lashes have grown thicker and longer and my lower lashes have grown in (they used to be very sparse and thin).
