I understand that some reviewers have had annoying failures with this device. Mine stopped working for no apparent reason so I dismantled it (just 2 screws). Actually quite well put together except that the plastic float inside moves up and down freely on side indents. The float is very light, so if it settles not quite vertical, it can stick either open or closed. I put candle wax on mine and so far has been perfect.
