Review: Great Dive watch! Excellent value! - I have a had a great experience with the Seiko Solar Prospex dive watch since receiving it about a month ago. I was looking for a quality dive watch that is equal parts reliable tool and handsome time piece. I spent a long time looking for exactly what I wanted and I believe this watch meets the criteria. After receiving the watch, I switched it over to a rubber 20mm strap and took it on a spear fishing trip, where it spent 5 hours a day for a week in salt water as deep a 60 feet. Solid luminescence in low light. The screw down crown was water tight and it keeps accurate time without any attention which I can't always say for my considerably more expensive automatic dive watch. It also looks great on the bracelet for more formal occasions. I'm really pleased with this time piece.

**Q: Is it really only 10mm thick?**
A: The Seiko Prospex Solar Divers watch really is only 10mm thick.  I was surprised when I received it.  I've had several Seiko diver's watches over the last 50 years.  They have all been "beefy", specifically the self-winding watches certified to 300 meters.  I've never been deeper than 100.  Having this one certified to 200 meters should be more than enough.  I appreciate how much lighter the watch is.  In addition, timekeeping is accurate.  You never have to worry about keeping the self-winding watch moving.  This watch is the way to go if you want a good looking tough classic timepiece.

**Q: Is the bracelet adjustable?**
A: The Seiko Prospex watch bracelet is adjustable.  There are two ways to adjust.  Micro adjustments can be made with the latching mechanism by moving the pin setting along the pre-drilled hole positions.  Larger adjustments are made in more traditional fashion by removing or adding links.  I would suggest that an experienced jeweler make this adjustment unless you already have the necesssary tools.

**Q: Can you tell the time at night? is there a light or do the hands "glow in the dark"?**
A: The dial face and hands are illuminating, like any quality diver’s should. Seiko is one of the best divers watches when it comes to easy reading in the dark, and it’s solar powered!

I can see my Seiko Prospex Solar better than I can my Tag Heuer Aqua Racer. The Seiko is about 10 times cheaper!

**Q: Does the second hand move in 1 second increments, or several times per second?**
A: 1 second increments

I have a had a great experience with the Seiko Solar Prospex dive watch since receiving it about a month ago. I was looking for a quality dive watch that is equal parts reliable tool and handsome time piece. I spent a long time looking for exactly what I wanted and I believe this watch meets the criteria. After receiving the watch, I switched it over to a rubber 20mm strap and took it on a spear fishing trip, where it spent 5 hours a day for a week in salt water as deep a 60 feet. Solid luminescence in low light. The screw down crown was water tight and it keeps accurate time without any attention which I can't always say for my considerably more expensive automatic dive watch. It also looks great on the bracelet for more formal occasions. I'm really pleased with this time piece.
