Now:- monitor connection gets interrupted (monitor blanks out, then returns)- keyboard and mouse input gets delayed and sometimes simply does not go though, which is incredibly frustratingjust for reference: keyboard/mouse work perfectly when connected directly to the MacBook with basic USB C adapter.Too bad the return window has closed...looks cool thoughupdate: just a short while after posting this the unit stopped sending any signal via HDMI. tried different cables - same result. ordering another one by a different manufacturer (realizing it may still be produced by the same supplier) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't purchase for HP Envy 13 laptop. *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2017* This hub's HDMI port will not work with the HP Envy 13 laptop. Since the write up listed the Dell XPS 13 as a compatible device I hoped it would work with the HP. The ports and SD card reader does work. However there appears to be no driver for the HDMI included with the HP. I will try to contact HP to see if they can provide a solution.The HP Envy 13 does work with a single HDMI adaptor.This is a really great looking adaptor. Was packaged nicely. I may keep it just for the features that do work even if HP cannot provide a solution. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Caused mechanical drive to click, cannot handle more than two functions at a time *by A***A on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2018* I received this product on Jan 10 and have been using it on my Macbook 12 for work. For the most part it functions fine, but there are some major issues I've encountered that prevent me from giving this device a full passI'm a traveling photographer working with a local company taking portraits across the country. I work with very large files taken in decent sized amounts, average 300 to 400 shots per session, and sometimes up to 700. I shoot entirely on RAW, and keep each session for up to six months (as per company policy as well as my own standards). Although my computer, which I got for it's weight and portability, has 512 gb of storage, that's not enough for me to constantly be storing the files on it, so I work directly from hard drives, of which I have two - a 500gb Samsung SSD that I exclusively use for travel, and a 4tb Western Digital HDD for universal back up. As anybody that has an MB 12 knows, the only ports on the computer are the USB-C charge port and a headphone jack, so as soon as I got it I went on the hunt for an adapter that'll allow me to do my work without problems.My first third party adapter was the Satechi adapter with two USB ports and an sd card reader. It failed two days after purchase, so I started looking for something more durable. I came across Ivyock, and got excited not only for the rave reviews, but also for seeming to possess far more functionality that anything else I've found within the same price range.Unfortunately it doesn't live up to hype.To be brief, the biggest issue I've had with this device is that it cannot seem to handle more than two functions at a time. After a day of shooting, I connect my sd card and my SSD to backup files. Say I'm doing this, but my computer has 20% battery, and needs to be charged. As soon as I plug the cord into the charge port on the adapter, it ejects all devices connected. It then proceeds to do battle with itself, trying to hold the charge and bring power to the other two devices, but fails each time and ejects everything. With an SSD this is not so much a problem as they are much more durable than a mechanical drive, but the first time I noticed this problem was when I connected my WD drive to the adapter to back up the SSD. Again, when I tried to charge the computer at the same time, it not only ejected the WD immediately, but also caused it to click. This happening to your mechanical drive is MUCH more serious than with an SSD, and after repeated attempts to get the drive to connect it just stopped responding altogether. Were it not for my computer scientist friend, I stood a very good chance of losing not only my professional work, but some very personal photos I took of my family over Christmas.Yeah, not acceptable.When I only use two devices at a time, the adapter works fine. Beautifully in fact. But with only 500 gb of storage, I can only go so long before I have to back up the SSD. I REFUSE to plug my mechanical into this adapter, so I've now resorted to using an old computer to back up the drives. Not the system I wanted to have.I'm disappointed that this device does not work the way it's advertised to be. Only being able to handle two of the seven devices it purports to be able to handle is at best inconvenient, at worst dangerous. I'll continue to use this adapter for now (again, only with my SSD), because like I said for backing up SD card to SSD it works fine. And I honestly have no choice, since the one before this one arguably failed even worse, and I don't have it in me to spend another $40-$50 on an adapter that'll *maybe* work.
