I haven't had the problem yet, but it may still be needed to apply decals with large areas of transfer film to a gloss finish. So far, the decals I have used have happily gone on to the matt finish, and are sealed in with matt acrylic varnish. I come from the day when all hobby paints were enamel or lacquer based. We would go to the hardware store and buy a gallon of paint thinner for $1.95 and that would solve all our thinning problems for airbrushing. Todays hobby acrylics are much more temperamental. Use the airbrush thinner manufactured for the paint. (That way you can blame the mfg. if it goes wrong. They might provide a solution.) With todays hobby acrylics, wash the target before painting. Use primer, same brand is not so important. Allowing it to dry and cure before painting is. Vallejo is a quality brand in this industry. **Q: Are these good for figures.... metal and plastic also what are the colors** A: Yes they are. I've painted Reaper Bones straight with them. However, pewter and other glossy plastics would need to be primed first.
