I'm a bit of a sneakerhead, and I really didn't want the look of "old man shoes" - and these Kiziks really fit the bill.For starters, with the black on white colorway I choose, these sort of have an Ultra Boost vibe. The fit is excellent...definitely true to size. I'm a 10.5, and I have a bit of a wide foot. For most running shoes, Ultra Boost included, I need to size up a half a size, or go with a wide version of the shoe. So for Nike and Adidas running shoes, I need to get an 11. Makes them a little longer than I'd like, but manageable. For Brooks...I had to get the wide version in a 10.5. For most other athletic and trail hiking shoes, I'm a 10.5 (Nike Presto, Adidas Free Hiker, Timberland boot, ect.). For these Kizicks...I was a little nervous about ordering a 10.5...but they fit great. The upper is really stretchy, so there is no issue with going true-to-size for me. Now if you have a really wide foot...I would suggest you get the wide version of the shoe. The sides of my foot extend out past the top of the outsole every so slightly, so I think I'm just barely getting by with the regular version of these. If you foot is just a little bit wide...the regular will be OK. If you always need a wide shoe...and your foot is really wide...get the wide version. The upper is also very breathable, so that is a good thing. I'm sure water will go right through these, so I'm guessing it will have zero water resistance. Keep that in mind.These were a tad tight for me out of the box, but the laces actually work, so I could just loosen them a bit to get a comfortable fit, and then retie them. That does not affect the ability to pop them on and off at all.As far as the foam outsole is concerned...they are decent. I'm used to Nike React and Adidas Boost...and nothing really compares to those. These Kizicks are not as cushy as those. But they are just a tad more firm than React, and are actually very comfortable. The amount of squish people like is really subjective. I love React foam for everyday use, but if I want to do some serious walking for exercise...they are too squishy. The Kiziks have a really good foam for everyday use. Ultra Boost is really my favorite...and if Adidas made an Ultra Boost that could be easily taken on and off like these Kiziks, I would have bought them in a heartbeat. As it stands, I think these are the closest thing you can get to an Ultra Boost with the easy-on, easy-off feature. So not quite a soft underfoot...but every bit as comfortable for the upper. There is also some decent padding around the back of the shoe, so that is a plus for me.Now for the real reason someone buys these...the ability to just pop them on and off without having to tie, and without even having to bend down...these definitely live up to that hype. And it's amazing how secure they are once you get them on. No heel slippage what-so-ever. They are so easy to get on and off. So if you want some old man shoes without the old man shoe look...these are awesome.
