## Description

Product Description Grand Theft Auto 3 lets you explore the fully realised universe that is Liberty City, and complete gangland missions. You can steal any car you see, from sports cars to taxis, and even boats. There are over a dozen ways to take out other characters, including fist-fighting, baseball bat, handgun, Uzi, rocket launcher, and Molotov cocktail. The game world has unpredictable weather, a variety of pedestrian types who act in unique ways, changing times of day and night, and a multi-tiered, fully corrupt police force. The revenge plot offers strong story elements that are balanced with the game's non-linear freedom-of-movement. desertcart.co.uk Review Ever fancied being a tooled-up hoodlum, living on the wrong side of the law and mixing it up with street gangs in a war over turf, drugs and cold, hard cash? Welcome to Grand Theft Auto 3 on the PlayStation 2. Big brother of previous outings on the PSone and PC, GTA 3 has gone fully 3-D to bring the fictitious environs of Liberty City to life. Any worries about graphical speed on the PS2 are quickly dispelled the first time you carjack a taxi and take off like a lunatic, mowing down the innocent and incurring the wrath of law enforcement. This is silky-smooth stuff and the graphical details are truly awesome--all the vehicles are fully deformable and ripping off car doors reveals a driver complete with steering wheels inside. Sonically, GTA 3 cannot be beaten; in-car tunes are provided from one of nine radio stations, each with its own distinct feel, and the sounds of the city are all here too; walk around for a while and you'll hear far-off police sirens, motorists abusing one another and general chit-chat as people go about their business. The game is very open-ended. Its major focus is the mission-based goals--start out as a convict accidentally sprung from jail and work your way up to become a shining light in one of the city's controlling gangs. If that gets dull, hijack a cab, police car, ambulance or fire engine and carry out missions suitable for your mode of transport, and if all else fails, find the ludicrously dangerous looking ramps and hit them hard for some big air and big cash bonuses. It has to be said that GTA 3 fully warrants its 18 certificate, dealing as it does with mob warfare, indiscriminate murders, auto crimes, prostitution and more. The language gets a little "fruity" from time to time and you can't help but wince as you watch innocents get in the way of a good firefight. At the end of the day, though, this is a game and nothing more; thankfully, it's a good game, a very, very good game in fact, so buy it now. Or we'll send Luigi and the boys round. --Chris Russell P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Review "Cross Gone In 60 Seconds with Reservoir Dogs and you'd probably knock up a tame version of GTA III. 9.9/10." -- Loaded"The best game in the world." -- Play Magazine"The most gleefully sociopathic slice of fun since Mr De Niro asked us what exactly we were looking at. 5/5." -- Maxim Manufacturer's Description Crime does pay. The hugely successful, highly controversial Grand Theft Auto franchise moves into 3 dimensions in the dark and seedy underworld of Liberty City. With the freedom to go anywhere and jack anyone, Grand Theft Auto 3 puts the dark, intriguing and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips, if you have enough guts to take it. Review: Now its a real cult game. Welcome to the Underworld.... - The first time I set eyes on the game was on a massive billboard poster just outside liverpool - since the game was released, everyone was hooked, and its now the best selling PS2 game ever. But why? Quite simply, 2 things. Firstly, nothing had ever been produced quite like it, or in the same depth. Sure, there was GTA 1 and 2, but to have full size 3-D environment, in which you pratically own the place was new. The game is based around a straightforward plot - 2 guys escape from a Police Van at night after a bomb on a bridge is plotted, and its up to you to gain respect through completing missions - around 75 of them in fact, and thats not counting other features/tasks in the game. The game is set in modern times, but deep in an New York style island, except in the depths of mafia, gun fights, hookers, strip clubs, killings - you name it. As the games sub title suggests: "Liberty City - Welcome to the worst place in America". Its the island itself which I love about the game, and this ties in with the second reason why we all love it. Personally, I loved it because Liberty City looked alot like many places in Liverpool. But its the atmosphere - the sun never shines, you'll never hear birds sing, there are no pretty landscapes. Instead, its always raining, or the skies grey. The buildings look dirty and run down. The people on the streets may randomly attack you at night. You can drive around after midnight and catch a hooker, watch the car bounce back and forth, and then drive off - its your play town. (Though I prefer to shoot the hooker after the sex - get my money back!) The soundtrack also reflects the gangster/working class island, with different radio stations all reflecting the type of people that'd live here. Theirs club and techno on Rise FM, MSX has break/trip beats, and theirs plenty more. But to listen to these, you need a car, how about stealing a taxi? Or try to rob a mafia 'sentinel' and get away? I'll admit, Vice City (the sequel) had improvements, but lacked the same size as this game. It didn't have the same atmosphere of crime and the underworld. Thats the key word - this really is the underworld. And during the winter, theirs no better game to play than this, if your stuck in and bored. Get some mates round and have a contest to see who can stay alive longest, or make up a game. Its up to you. Its your play ground. And because of its representation of the underworld, and its sheer scale, it'll never be matched. This was what made the PS2 a a must have - over 18 or not, we all had it. Nintendo? This is the only game they'd never release...
Review: The one, The only, GTA3 is the ultimate game to play!!! - I'll just make this short and sweet. Having owned the game for nearly four years, this is easily one of the best games I have ever played, it never bores me one bit, I still play it like its the first time. Two good sequels followed this legendary game but for me, GTA3 will always be the ultimate game of the three!! Simply fantastic and highly recommended for any PS2 gamer (of course having said that, I bet everyone has played it by now!!!). My second favourite PS2 game of all time, with Devil May Cry being my first favourite PS2 game.

### ⭐ Does Not Work. However...
*by A***N on 2 April 2015*

The disc was to scratched for the Playstation 2 to read. However it's not my favourite GTA it's still the matter it doesn't work. Like I said, it's not my favourite GTA so I can't really be bothered to get a refund. However, I do suggest to the seller, please TEST the games before they're shipped off. Thankyou.
