Tip of the day, if you use kettles and pots over open fires regularly, don't clean the outside of them, let them go black. The colour black absorbs heat faster than polished steel and boil times are reduced. I have only been brushing the soot of pots with a rag and letting them stay black for years now.I bought this kettle a few months ago to replace an old one I had for about thirty years. Its robust and works fine.
