An alert is also sent when power comes back on. That alert is a message, either via email or text, or both. Power Failure Detector is configured to use your WiFi (see Important Note below). The setup takes a few minutes with a smart phone or a laptop. No Hub Required Each Power Failure Detector works independently with your Wi-Fi network. Multiple devices can be placed in different locations throughout your home or business. Your notifications will include your text for each device that you specify in the device configuration. No Fees There are no fees for using MySpool Power Failure Detector for any notifications. Flexible design MySpool Power Failure Detector comes with an extra long 6 foot power cord connected to an enclosure with a transmitter. SMS does not work for outside of US however email works just fine. I am using it on a GFCI outlet that waters my hydroponic gardens so that outlet often trips but the rest of the house has power. Great for me but perhaps not for you. If the entire house is without power then you would need to have a UPS unit providing power to your modem and wifi router in order for you to still get the message. Having said that, this thing is awesome and texts me when the outlet trips and texts me again when the power is reset. All for an amazing price! **Q: Why not just be a power source for a few hours so WiFi still works and my bearded dragon doesn’t die while I race home?** A: Why not just be a food processor so my smoothie will be ready when I get home? This is a $50 alarm. If you want a backup power supply, get one of those.
