I don't believe there are any infrared light health benefits, but the overall dry heat inside that makes you sweat is heavenly. Sweating is the healthy aspect and it can get HOT! Totally however you want it to be from warm to HOT! You can set it for up to an hour which I love to do when I have trouble sleeping. Helps me fall asleep but you should absolutely not have the heat set too high if you are going to fall asleep. Well made. Weighted blanket feel.
