We had heavy rain the first time we used the shelter and these shed rain very nicely, fitting under the gutters. They are very secure using both four corner hooks and Velcro, including Velcro to keep it under the gutter. They were also nice in the evenings when it got cold, to keep a bit of warmth in the shelter, as well as nice privacy screens in case there are neighbors in the campgrounds. We added another three for a week trip to the Adirondacks and they were all used. For the Escape XL, the sixth side is the door. It hangs straight and is a little different in that there's no Velcro over the door. The 4 hooks can hook into the loop but it would've been nice if clam had put Velcro over the door like it did over the sides. Still, all in all, there's not usually a need to have 6 sides covered, so for a normal rain these things are excellent.Edit: These are for the Escape XL. Not for the Escape. Just do just a bit of background research here, look at the charts and make sure before you buy. They do not fit the Escape. They DO fit the Escape XL. There's a difference, right? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use *by G***O on July 14, 2019* The whole product of the Clam Shelter seems to be a quality item. Used ours twice. A week at Belle Isle SP in VA (nice park). And, a week st Oregon Inlet Nat'l P, Outer Banks, NC. Very windy the first night for setup.
