Review: Nice product - Great tire shine, last for awhile Review: Where has this stuff been all my life? - I'm reasonably compulsive about keeping my car clean, inside and out, the exterior polished and waxed to near-perfection, or as near as possible given my daily driver is now two decades old. Over the years I have tried many, many tire treatment products - spray on liquids and foams and creams from all the usual suspects like Armor All, 3M, Meguiars, Eagle One, Griot's... on and on. The sprays are a pain - you have lots of cleaning up to do after each application. The wipe on treatments I've tried before seem to leave way too much sticky residue and are prone to getting thrown around the first time you drive away. And no matter what I've tried, nothing seems to be very durable - I would have to treat my tires every few days to maintain the look I want, and often I can't get around to doing that. Holy cow, as Scooter would say -- why didn't I try this stuff before? It's a gel, it's concentrated and it really does the job. Apply it with a clean rag, or with one of those curved foam applicators you will see here on desertcart (look at the Eagle One applicators that desertcart sells in two packs - you can get a dozen for less than a ten spot). I put a small amount on a rag and massage it into the sidewall of a clean, dry tire. Let it sit overnight. Wipe it with another cloth to remove any excess - there won't be much -- and to buff it to a bit more of a shine. You will have a nice smooth surface on your tires -- sort of a semi-gloss finish like a new tire. You will not have tire gel thrown onto your rims, wheel wells and paint when you drive off. And you will have clean, semi-glossy tires for quite a long time. I last applied Sonax to my Pilot Super Sports two weeks ago, and we have had more than our share of rain (and hail!). The tires still look pretty darned nice, after three or four washes and a good bit of foul weather driving. In short, this is the best tire treatment I've ever used. It may seem pricey, but a little goes a long way, and I don't think the cost per application is more than the competition. I thought it was common knowledge that silicon increase the possibility of tire dry rot? Even the reps at Tire Rack said the same thing. Or did the Germans come up with something new? THanks!** A: I have used this product for several years, and tires wore out long before tire rot set in. I don’t know why Tire Rack would say that. This has been nothing but an amazing product. As I said I’ve used this product for years and I would highly recommend it. The product does make the tires looks clean and black, and shiny, but not overly so. Let it dry 10 min before driving. No sling. I’ve never seen it sling off like some products. It’s also amazing on the hard black car trim (not rubber). Makes it amazing with no rub off. **Q: Can I use this product on rubber boots?** A: Tire Gloss Gel would be safe on rubber boots, but it would not absorb into the rubber like it would a tire. **Q: I live in rainy Vancouver. This product is in gel form *by W***U on October 28, 2016* Great product! This product is in gel form; you wipe it onto your tire with a sponge. Unlike some other tire glossers, you won't have to worry about spraying the stuff all over or leaving residue on your garage floor. Unlike a lot of other tire products I've used, this stuff lasts (provided you follow the instructions)! I recommend wiping your tires with this product at the end of the day, and leaving it for a night. I've fount that the product works best this way. It won't sling, and it'll last for weeks (as long as it doesn't rain)!
