This Prepworks by Progressive Large Nut Chopper makes it an easy task to create delicious toppings for sundaes, cookies, brownies, salads and more! The blades chop through hard nuts like almonds with ease and allow you to switch between fine and coarse grinds by simply changing the direction of the turn handle. The chopped nuts fall into the clear base that has measurements up to 1 ½ cups, to ensure that you get the perfect amount each time. The top lid is hinged for easy filling while the elliptical design and non-skid base provide increased stability during use. This Nut Chopper is dishwasher safe for easy, convenient cleaning.

Review: When I received this nut grinder I was impressed with its size. The top of the grinder fits quite a few nuts. I also like you can chop them coarse or fine. The base is quite large and holds up to 1 1/2 chopped nuts and has an easy removal bottom which does not move on the counter when using. This is by far the best chopper I have purchased!!
Review: I thought this would be the answer to my hatred of chopping nuts or paying the high price of chopped nuts in the store. It turns out that the only positive thing I can say is that the retro color is cool. This chopper does not work!! The parts are difficult to put together and don't stay together when you turn the handle to chop nuts unless you push down hard on the top. And even then, if you aren't pressing down straight, the chopper topples over, the components came apart and chopped nuts spill all over your counter. So, after I cleaned up the mess, even though I was turning in the direction to produce larger pieces, at least half of what came out was powder (nut meal); totally unusable for what I was baking! I'm honestly not sure how you're supposed to get the "chopped" nuts out successfully. When I turned the chopper over to empty the bottom compartment, I apparently wasn't holding all the parts together strongly enough because the components came apart again...nuts all over the counter!! This chopper has serious design issues!! I wish I had returned this after the first use but I decided to try it again knowing all I had learned about it. The second time was only marginally better. I still had to man-handle it and I basically got nut powder in the end. I was going to give it to Goodwill but decided it wouldn't be fair to whoever bought it and threw it away instead. I have only ever written one bad review before this and didn't really want to spend the time writing this one, but I felt strongly that I needed to tell of my experience.

**Q: Would this work for breaking dog kibble into smaller pieces (without crushing it to powder)?**
A: Yes, would this Nut Chopper break up dog kibble into smaller pieces without it going all to powder?  Yes.  I use my Nut Chopper as a First Process to get almonds down to a size that my coffee bean grinder can handle to finally get the almonds down to powder.   But the kibble pieces will be small.   At first you might not notice but on both sides of the chopper wheel, the front, if grinding with the right hand, the slots are smaller and so you will get a finer grind by turning forward with the right hand, but the back side of the chopper the slots are larger for a coarser chop.  SO my guess is that this would be a good fit for you, but use it with your left hand turning the crank forward and that will probably give you a chop with very little powder.

**Q: Has anyone used this on mesquite beans? If so, does it work well?**
A: I've only used it for nuts, and it works very, very well on those.

A: Made in China, patent pending

**Q: Does this chop the nuts large enough to put in cookies?**
A: Even at the coarse setting the nuts are about 1/2 coarse powder and 1/2 tiny pieces. It works for nuts that are not meant to stand out in a cookie, but that's all.

When I received this nut grinder I was impressed with its size. The top of the grinder fits quite a few nuts. I also like you can chop them coarse or fine. I like the size of this chopper, and the shape of the bottom makes it more stable than similar choppers I've had over the years. The graduated measurements on the bottom container are very convenient for tracking the amount of nuts being chopped. However, I am not pleased with the size of the chop. I've tried turning the blades in both directions, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I was hoping for a coarser chop.
