I also use I fine diamond hone to clean up burs a true up all contact surfaces including the spruce plat; yes you can. Use aluminum anti-seize, like the manual says, on moving rubbing surfaces. Make a temperature controller, per johnny's reloading bench's super simple to follow plans, which makes this so much easier and you don't have to worry about fumes so much, under 900F. I also drop my spruces on a french fry dispensing tool and drop/pore them into the pot every four pours or so, I moved the handle to 90 degrees. Their weight runs 47.7-49 grains. Remember that’s using Lyman #2 alloy. I use these in conventional shotgun loads and also as single ball in 1863 Remington Black powder pocket revolver.
