After 4 months of use, I removed the grease filter baffle, wiped off as much of the oils and grease that I could, and put it in the dishwasher along with a regular load of stuff. It came out looking like new! The old Broan had an aluminum mesh filter which was poor in capturing cooking oil vapors, and it would drip oil from the filter a short time after cleaning, which was always a mess. The rattle that other people complain about is not a problem for me, but I did make sure all the screws in the grease trap assembly were tight--some were loose. Its something of a pain to remove all of the protective film over the stainless steel parts before installation, but the unit looks good after you do that! My only gripe so far is that the control buttons are difficult/impossible for my wife to reach--they end up over 75" from the floor in our installation, and not on the front of the unit like the Broan design. Motor/Fan just stopped working after 60 days with VERY limited use. Lights work so I know it has power.
