I haven't checked. I suspect it is a random triggering because of its cost. **Q: Could this SSR work for 240vac split phase (usa)? that is not three phase ?** A: I use these in several applications - mainly to use a off-the-shelf low-voltage thermostat to control 220V baseboard heaters. Using a cheap 12vdc power adapter to provide input through the thermostats, and then I'm switching both hots, and the neutral via the SSR prior to the baseboard - never had a lot of confidence in the line-voltage thermostats they offered, and I wanted a garage thermostat that I could set down as low as 35 degrees. I did install them with heat sinks but I'm not pushing them anywhere near their 40A max. **Q: Does this relay makes a "click" sound when switching on?** A: No there aren't any mechanical parts to click in an SSR as in a relay. **Q: are they zero crossing or random firing** A: They are Zero Crossing. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for my purpose. *by J***N on February 8, 2021* Needed a heavy duty SSR to control a line-voltage baseboard heater with an off-the-shelf thermostat - one that went down to 35 degrees. The mechanical ones I've looked at for this purpose, have at least one picture of some catastrophic burn-out failure, and using these in a remote cabin, wasn't comfortable having something like that around - attended or not. These transfer the 240VAC power feed to the heaters while the control side from the thermostat is 12 VDC. Have two of them hooked up and so far no issues at all - no sound - very clean and efficient. They are oversized for the application but the cost was very reasonable. Did mount them on heatsinks nonetheless. ### ⭐ These are cheap and blow up only after a day of use. *by M***M on May 22, 2024* Hooked this up to my Fab shop powder coat oven to replace the bad one it had since new. It lasted about 15 min heard big bang and blew up! I replaced with other brand everything good to go. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good relay. *by A*** on May 7, 2022* I used this relay for a project I was working on, and it works great for the purpose.One issue: On the original relay I was sent, the V+ terminal was totally disconnected from inside of the relay. The whole post would come out of the plastic housing.
