Many of my students have difficulty with bearings and angles in general. This is a very well-made and easy-to-use compass. It is inexpensive and has very clear markings. The bezel turns smoothly. It is very easy to read since both the raised lip and the base have marks, so you can eliminate parallax errors. It is the perfect teaching aid. The compass needle agrees with my Silva map-reading compass to better than 2 degrees. So it's accurate enough for orienteering or rough map reading when you're out and about. Highly recommended.
