Crave is a pretty old brand that disappeared for a while and came back as a grain free line of pet foods. It's pretty good stuff too. My very allergic cat doesn't get sick from this and the cost is reasonable. I can't tell you much more. **Q: Why does it say no chicken meal in one of the photos, and yet the second ingredient is Chicken Meal for the salmon & ocean fish flavor?** A: The reap was correct. Chicken meal is simply chicken without the liquid. It's sort of like dehydrated chicken (though differently processed) and, in fact, my research suggests that it my even be better because in the process the chicken becomes more concentrated (per kibble, that is). (I WISH!) **Q: What percentage is carbohydrates?** A: As was correctly noted by others, cats are obligate carnivores. They lack the carb processing enzymes that are required for proper digestion of carbs and will therefore experience physical distress when they are fed carbs—even carbs that smell like "chicken". But not only must they have meat, as obligate carnivores they need to maintain a strong stomach acidity in order to get all the nutrients they require from the meat they eat. From the start they were sick vomiting and diarrhea. They had been getting fed wet food (presumably because of their young age and that's what the foster had). I took them to the vet and had them treated for everything they had (2 months of antibiotics) and thought it would help. It did for a while but then it started again.So someone suggested grain free food. I shopped around and tried so many foods. One of the cats will eat anything you put in front of her, anything. The other cat is extremely picky. I finally find a store brand (wegmans) that was grain free and inexpensive. And they both loved it. No more vomit no more diarrhea. But we moved and there is no wegmans anywhere in this state. So I had to find a different food. I tried a bunch of different ones.I found crave and tried it. They both loved it and didn't have any issues. I've tried different foods since finding crave, just looking for a lesser costly food, but everything I try causes vomiting. So we'll stick with crave.I can no longer but it at the store since they no longer sell just chicken flavor. And my picky cat will NOT eat seafood flavor anything. Not even if I open a can of tuna. She won't touch it. She also won't touch wet food or the crave flavor mixed with chicken and salmon. So I buy it here now.
