Review: An inspired book that's beautiful to use and look at - This is such an inspired book with many facets. First, it's a practical guide to an insider's favorite areas, written with knowledge, experience, and a love for the city. Second, it's a book filled with beautiful watercolor art illustrating some of the of the magic of Paris. Combined it's a very helpful book to use both while planning and when touring. Lastly, it's a book that pays tribute to Paris and its charms and is not one of those guide books that become dated very quickly. It's a timeless book that's become a part of my libray of books on traveling and art.
Review: Very useful book to discover Paris - We just got back from Paris and used this book to guide some of our walks. In short -- it's definitely a very useful book to escape the typical tourist crowds and enjoy a bit of Paris as locals live it (or so it seemed). It does have a feel of getting tips from a friend who lives in the city and knows the nice spots. For example, we were very impressed with the Belleville & Buttes-Chaumont walk -- the parks are beautiful and provide a nice break from the hectic museums. The suggestions for Montmartre were useful as well: for example, start at the top of the hill and make it downstairs as opposed to upstairs -- simple advice, but very helpful. Saint-Germain-des-Pres was aslo a nice walk -- especially, Jardin du Luxemburg and the Ecole Nationale Superiore Des Beaux-Arts. The latter is not very obvious to find, but was very interesting to visit and see how the projects by the students and their church studio. On another walk during the night of the museums -- the Museum of Hunting and Nature was a blast of surrealism! :) The maps in the book are not very detailed. n some cases, but it was not a problem for me because I was using google maps in conjunction. Another advice is to check if/when the places on the route open -- sometimes the cafes/shops/art galleries mentioned in the book were either permanently closed, or closed at the time when we were there. For example, Le Plateau on page 93 is only open Wednesday to Sunday, 2–7pm. Bugada & Cargnel looked promising, but is currently closed to public. Bottom line -- check the places before you head out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Paris Guide Yet
*by J***E on March 18, 2023*

This is a perfect travel guide in so many ways. I own several guides but have never sat down and read one cover-to-cover. I not only did that with this book, but have since ordered three more for friends as gifts. The watercolor paintings are charming, the text is very well written, the research really highlights spots of interest and is divided into do-able walks, and the book size is good for packing. I’m hoping this duo will write more travel guides just like it! Great book!!
