My external monitor supports both HDMI and DisplayPort. The HDMI only goes up to 60Hz. The DisplayPort goes all the way up to 165Hz. Instead of buying a new monitor that supports 2k 240fps and 480fps at 1080, I decided to purchase this for the time being. Works great.
