    An Indispensable Guide

This book was an indispensable guide to help me figure out how to recover from pregnancy and childbirth. This book got my fifth child and me off to a great start. I wish I had had this information for my previous births."The Postpartum Recovery" also helped me to recover from anemia and other ailments following two difficult miscarriages and a hemorrhage, without any use of the constipating iron pills most medical doctors like to prescribe.  The book is pleasurable to read and very informative. The recipes are delicious and easy to follow. I am Chinese in my mother's side and loved the more traditional recipes, but Dr. Andrews has also included recipes that may better accommodate the Western palate. Simple charts breakdown the Postpartum phases and each phase's focus of recovery. I wish all expecting mother's could have this knowledge about recovering after birth and all babies could have mothers who have been cared for in this way.
