The color appears bluer than purple, but this doesn’t seem to be a problem with my hair: My hair is a mix of color-treated DARK blonde with natural grey and white strands. The shampoo did not create green hues and neutralized the brassiness without leaving a strong purple tint. It slightly stained my fingers and nails, but the staining was gone by the end of the shower – I did not need gloves and there was no mess left behind. The smell of the product is subtle, like any regular shampoo, I cannot relate to some reviews claiming the shampoo’s smell to be overpowering. It did not neutralize the brassiness during the first use where I left it in for 5 minutes as instructed on the product, but the effectiveness may vary based on the hair’s porosity, so perhaps I needed multiple 5-minute washes to see results. Impatience took over and during the second use I left the shampoo in for 10+ minutes and the results were great, though (as expected) my hair was drier than when I left it in for only 5 minutes. Now that I’ve achieved the desired tone, I will use the product once a week. This will be my go-to of all purple shampoos. It is a large quantity for the price, there is an absence of some damaging ingredients usually found in purple shampoos and my hair does seem less dry in comparison to other brands. Above all: The shampoo eliminated the brassiness without the hair looking too purple or blue. My hair became very dry and didn’t feel like it was conditioned very well. I purchased this product out of desperation. I’m so glad that I did, I bought the shampoo and conditioner as a last resort, my hair has improved dramatically, even my hairdresser has said it is much better.
