A: The silver side is metal.

**Q: Will taking this apart and sanitizing it with something like hydrogen peroxide harm the tuner?**
A: I used mild vinegar and water to remove minor corrosion and then rinsed with demineraized water to rinse the vinegar and then a wash with alcohol, definitely do not use harsh chemicals like bleach.
Regular cleaning keeps the tunes bright and accurate.

**Q: Where is it made?**
A: Kratt Tuner products are from an authorized brand distributor in the United States.

**Q: How do I clean this without causing rust, and how do i get rid of the rust that's there?**
A: Food grade silicone for protectant, cleaning.  320 or 400 grit sand paper for rust.  Then apply liquid rust reformer with a q-tip to spots.   If rust is inside it is a loss.

Find a better spot to store the next one, it should not rust.
