I could relate to her easily and wanted so bad for her to be happy again. This was such a seamless story that flowed easily with little typos. I didn't feel rushed to read about Clover and Damon's story, but I didn't want to put it down. Great job Kia!Clover works as a personal assistant for a big magazine, she thought working here would make her happy. The thing is, that her jealous witch of a boss makes her life hell. When asked to show up to a function with a boyfriend she gives in not wanting her boss to win, and calls an escort. Little did she know that her stunningly handsome old fashioned escort, Damon would challenge her and make her question her happiness. On the other hand, little did Damon know that gorgeous stubnorn Clover would be the one to heal his broken heart. Follow along on a beautifully told love story. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Nice Light Read *by M***M on March 29, 2021* The author did a great job of staying on track with the storyline, was efficient with descriptions, and main character build. Like most novellas there isn’t a lot of depth, but this author just got in deep enough to build a simple, but sweet story without making me feel there needed to be more or leaving me with lots of questions, or holes in the story.The only question I had is what is Cassidy’s role at the firm? She was a big part of this story and it was ambiguous. A few sentences for this would have been sufficient.The only other oddity was how close Cassidy and Clover seemed to be yet were not truly friends outside of work. The characters seemed close, but distant to me. They never did anything together except play dress up. Maybe it seemed like the relationship was not not personal because Clover wasn’t included in the birthday party either, a reasonable excuse for no birthday party with the girls may have helped.Loved that the main characters didn’t have instant love and end up having sex within the first 10 or 20 pages or even first chapter of the book. This was a super slow burn.The part that annoyed me the most was Clover not having a proper backstory for how she met Mr. Escort. Of course people were going ask. That would have been the first thing I would have thought of in her situation.Plus, no pets names? I don’t know one couple in a relationship that doesn’t have a pet name for each other even it’s just babe or hun. How is no pet names suppose to look real?Then Clover gets mad at Mr. Escort for taking the initiative for them and demands a discount? What?! Ummm.... Damon is theoretically the dating expert here and he didn’t come up with a bizarre backstory either.The dramatics were nicely done to build up the story. I like the ending and the Epilogue fit nicely.Well written overall with very few editing errors making for a pleasant read.I plan to read the next book. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not What One Would Expect *by M***D on March 5, 2017* Most of the people who saw the title of this book while I was reading, assumed it was something raunchy and played out. I would say that in reality, it's a great story that speaks to most people.
