Review: Great working product!!!!! This probe was accurate right out of the box. Ice water and boiling water test showed probes to be extremely accurate. The ease of connecting to the ChefsTemp App was amazing.. just simply download the app, click add device, then follow on screen instructions. I can now keep an eye on my Internal Temps while I am away from home.. without any wires!!!!! It also gives me a peace of mind while smoking overnight.. set my high and low alarms and go to sleep!!!!! Words of advice... ●make sure your phone is connected to 2.4ghz wifi network.. these units Will not recognize 5ghz network.... ●when wrapping your meat to finish, do not put your price inside of aluminum foil or the metal pan because it blocks the transmission signal(This is the case with all these type of devices) ●use only the included AC adapter and cord for charging. The app has lots of helpful features.. including pre selected meat options... °F or °C.. and don't forget to go Dark Mode for a nice, clean looking Black Background.. and sooo many alarms choices with different sounds available. You can't go wrong with any ChefsTemp products!!! I also have the S1, BreezoFan and the Finaltouch X10 instant read. I have learned that ChefsTemp = Quality!

I downloaded the app to my phone to set this up, but I seldom use the phone for grilling. It works without a phone as a simple rechargeable Bluetooth wireless thermometer, with the probe broadcasting to the base, where you can read large numerals on the base's screen. I don't need timers, alarms, graphs of temperature over time, grilling history, cellular connections across town, or other features the app provides. I do like the dual temperature readout from the probe, which shows both internal temperature of the food, and the internal temperature of the grill. It has a strong bluetooth signal, which works from the probe, through the thick steel walls of a smoker to the base. I have never lost the connection, but I keep the base within about 20 feet of the probe. A wired probe, an instant read digital thermometer, or even a mechanical meat thermometer would work just as well I suppose. (By the way, I have not found mechanical thermometers to be as inaccurate as books and the internet would suggest.) This is obviously more product than I need. I got it when my cheap big box digital thermometers failed quickly. So far, no problems. I am pleased with my purchase.
