And I’m very glad I did. This is going to be a long review, I just want to educated any possible buyers.This product is pretty much what they say it is. That being said, it works well for me. It is long, but fits fine for what I needed. I have a awkward off step I needed covered at the bottom of my stairs.I do not agree with it being adjustable lengths. It will not adjust smaller unless your rig it up to be smaller!! I was able to make it work, but I will probably cut off a foot or so and sew it to be the size I need for a cleaner fit and look.For all the reviews saying is doesn’t hold your dog? Obviously not you idiot, it is a mesh gate. I have a 11 month old pitbull puppy and it took less than two hours to train her on the gate. Using commands as off/stay and now she’s fine, she doesn’t mess with it. She now knows better. So for those of you with trainable dogs or could be bothered with teaching a new command to your pet this will work fine. If your a POS dog owner and legit want a full barricade... this product is not for you. (Where I’m guess all the negative reviews are coming from)No, it doesn’t come with instructions. But my parents taught me common since so I was fine but for those of you who need extra help...Start with opening your package (be cautious cardboard can be sharp)Extend the metal poles and insert into the shorter sides through the top of the solid black edging (if you don’t see/feel the opening try the other side) I started with inserting small end first to have the large end being at the top. I did this so it would be more sturdy.Then, I held the mesh up to where I wanted to place it and worked out where I would like to place the hooks/how I wanted the hooks angled. See pics for how I angled the hooks to hold better. Simply placing the hooks in the up position is not the best option in probably any case... (Keep in mind the loop for hooks are elastic) I used a friend to help strech the gate tight. I would suggest the same to avoid it flapping over itself. If you see in the pics, mine is sagging a bit on the top. I think it’s the angle I needed for my weird step and no solid material in the top portion, only the sides. (I’m going to grab some wooden dowl rods, cut a whole and slide them in there to give it more structure)Once you know where and how to angle your hooks, peel off the back and stick in place. Press them firmly onto the wall. (Not paint friendly, I had to removed and reposition one. It peeled off some paint, I would suggest small clear command hooks)Once hooks are set, loop your gate around the hooks and begin teaching your dog proper gate behavior. Like not to lean into it, try to go under, scratch, or bite the gate. It’s simple.I hope this helps someone. I love this gate for the price. 4 star due to the inablitly to shorten the gate unless you fix it yourself and hooks not being paint friendly. This could be a real winner product if they made smaller width sizes, added poles for the top/bottom and a cleaner hook design. Simple fixes that will cost me no more than $10 so I’m still at around $20 for a gate I love and works wonderful for me. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy! *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2018* I had this for a few days and today tried to install it. First-unlike some other reviewers, my package had all the promised parts. That was the only good part.The poles were not easy to expand to the required length, it took some tool to pull it apart. It does not "expand". It is one solid piece, about 72" long could be right, so if you only need 40", what to do with the rest?I rigged it up, but the way I have it now it is neither easy to move, nor elegant. Worst of all, it had no instructions in the package. Even so, it did not promise any instructions. So I went back to the site and tried to find some easy instructions there, they are more than meager and do not explain how to get this "expanded". Second of all my package was missing 2 sticky hooks and BOTH poles so the gate was unusable. To make it even more annoying, since this is a 3rd party seller Amazon is unable to replace the missing parts and I had to go buy another gate from a different seller and wait 2 more days all the while hoping (and praying) my dog doesn't destroy my home. overall terrible company and terrible product do not waste your money.
