Props to answers within the next 3 hours! Thanks** A: The ones I got were real golf balls; but there are also soft, foam I think, for indoor play. This is an excellent outdoor game for all ages! **Q: Is this the same as ladder ball?** A: YES IT IS **Q: Does this come with a carrying bag?** A: No, a carrying bag is not included with his, however the pieces all fit in the box which does have a carrying handle and can be used for keeping it in and transporting it. I wish it had a bag, but you can use an old tent or foldable chair bag instead just fine if you don't want to use the box.This is the best version of this game I've ever seen and would not let there not being a bag deter you away from it. **Q: How tall do the goals stand?** A: They are 40 in. tall. Seems to be a fairly well made set. Two sort of issues though. 1. The disassembly is sort of hard the PVC will stick. 2. I purchased this set for my wife for her birthday after reviewing many different sets available. Our family and friends have enjoyed the game which has really worked out well for entertainment at cookouts. The great thing about this game is that appeals to the whole age range. If you have played this game at a friend or family member's place that is most likely why you are here looking at getting your own set. If you are trying to decide between this set and the others this is the set to go with and worth the money.Build Quality:Before selecting this set I read reviews of many different sets online and even reviewed plans to build my own. The part that sold me on this set over the other options was that it was built strong enough to stand up to real family game use and yet can still be taken apart. Many of the cheaper sets you see have various design flaws or parts that just are not strong enough and the reality of it is if the game does not deliver it is just going be unused and waste space. The pieces in this set were easy to assemble. Some parts are prebuilt and cannot be taken apart which I assume is to keep the set as solid as possible. The set arrives nicely arranged in the box but unless you study in carefully or take a picture do not plan on easily putting all the pieces back into the box. The blongo balls are what feel like real golf balls and connected with a good heavy piece of nylon rope. The quality of the parts used in make the blongo balls is important to have the right weight and feel to the game. My only complaint on the ladder pieces is once in a while you will manage to knock something apart, not a big deal they can be reconnected and the trade to have a set that can be taken apart.Game Fun:As I mentioned earlier this game is a great deal of fun for a wide range of ages. There is set of instructions included with the game which works well to play with. What I have noticed is that most everyone has their own variation on the game. All the variations to the game are a great way to keep up the variety. Without adding on any more sets of blongo balls playing with teams you will keep 4 people busy. The manufacturer sells additional sets of blongo balls if you would like different colors or even to get more teams involved in playing.Rating:I gave the game 4 stars, instead of 5, for a couple of reasons. It would have been nice if the set came in a box that was easier to put the pieces back into and use as a carrying case. I also was disappointed in how short the warranty was on the set at 90 days. Depending on how things work out I don't think that is enough time to test your set out fully and fill it should have been a little longer. With the above said, it is a great game, gets everyone involved, and is another easy to learn and difficult the master kind of game. All the pieces are built right so you can play the game the way its meant to be played. We ordered it and couldn't be happier. It is very well made, easy to assemble, and fits back in the box (with carrying handle) when done. This makes it very easy to transport. It uses real golf balls, which is the only way to play... some sets come with cheap plastic balls that don't work well.For those of you that don't know what ladder golf is... it's a simple game. You toss a pair of golf balls tied together by a rope onto a pvc "ladder". Top rung is 1 point, middle 2 points, bottom 3 points. You play to 21 and each player gets 3 tosses per set, alternating tosses between teams. This makes things interesting because it is possible to knock other balls off the ladder. The game is quite addictive, and can get very competitive.
