The screws are deeply countersunk so that nothing could catch on a pressing surface. And, best of all, it's heavy enough to stay in place easily while moving fabrics around, even fairly heavy fabrics, without being so heavy I'd hate dragging it out of the closet. So I'm thrilled with it and would highly recommend it. No more burned fingers from manipulating fabric and steaming with a hot iron on my tailor's ham. The wood is perfectly smooth and the screws on the bottom are recessed.
