The right mix of compound, proper spray pattern, and the amount of time to set up before knocking down are critical in obtaining a nice result. Practice and patience are a must. If you don't have that, don't buy this and call a professional! But, once you have it dialed in, this tool works great. I've attempted to use a 12" mud knife in the past for knockdown with poor results. This tool has saved me from a lot of aggravation.
