Review: Small powerhouse, time saving in many ways - For under $100 you get a tiny powerhouse. It is unbelievable how fast and effortlessly this drill can pound in long lagbolts. Also you can cycle speeds between 1-3 for slow to fast to allow better control for certain applications. There is also a 4th mode that stops the drill when the screw head gets to the surface even if your finger is still holding the trigger. When i first got it i did not know how to change it out of this mode which was irritated because it would stop prematurely for longer screw however in certain applications like putting roofing screws in with the rubber seals it will save you from overtightenimg them. The button to cycle modes is above the mode light by where the batteries clip on the tool. Also, it is so easy to put bits in compared to my old milwaukee impact driver because you dont have to slide the chuck forward to slide a bit in you just press it in and it grabs it. I use this gun daily, it is an excellent tool.

Also there's a problem that Milwaukee might recall but the collet will fail and bits will not stay in anymore, bits will literally fall out. I sent mine in under the 5 year warranty and they sent me 2 brand new ones (2863-20). Probably best to stick to an impact wrench if you want torque for your sockets. Overall a pretty good tool and I think Milwaukee is aware of the collet problem.

**Q: What torque does the #2853-20 have for removing screws?**
A: The item for sale here is the M18 Fuel impact driver model # 2853-20 & it has 2,000 inch lbs of torque per the manufacturer!! not sure why Amazon states 1800 thats incorrect & also not sure why people are saying the removed lug nuts with this, its a 1/4 impact driver not a 1/2 impact wrench!! .............. 2000 inch lbs equates to roughly 165ft lbs which is what a Milwaukee impact wrench is made for..

**Q: Is this the gen 3.5 version with the fixed 2 bearing collet?**
A: As of 10/2022 it is the Gen 3.5 w/ 2 ball bearings

A: In addition to a protective cover, they make a case for this tool:  Milwaukee CASE 2853-22

**Q: What's the difference between the fuel impact driver an the cheaper one?**
A: All Milwaukee tools labeled "fuel", have brushless motors. Which means better battery life, better motor life and more torque. As a professional and a home owner I buy only "fuel" tools for my work. Most homeowners for average use standard motors will be fine.

For under $100 you get a tiny powerhouse. It is unbelievable how fast and effortlessly this drill can pound in long lagbolts. There are different torque drivers that Milwaukee makes, so pay attention to that. This is a higher torque, so it should cost more. This was the best price I could find that was not reconditioned. Very powerful. It does not come with a battery, but buy 2 batteries so you always have a fresh one on the job. Batteries have great life! They fit a bunch of different tools, so buy the tools that you need and you will be very satisfied. M18 Fuel is all you need for power on any job.
