I sent it back, then a local electric motor company made a different solid state converter for me, and that worked, but sounded like a jet engine in my garage!! Finally, I bought an American made rotary phase converter (after much down time) and my sander now runs PERFECTLY SMOOTH, like it should. So, save your time and money and get a REAL converter. Seemed to work okay for the first few days. Then it would surge a couple times on start up before holding and working okay. Last night after running for maybe two hours off and on, the amperage limit tripped on the saws magnetic switch. Reset it and tried again and it started up and ran, but it sounded kinda weird, looked down and saw smoke pouring out of the DPS unit. Really sucks that I internationally bought a unit rated for 7.5hp to run a 5hp saw, just as I was advised, and felt good thinking I had plenty of overhead before I would overwhelm the unit. Smoked and fried in the first week. And no way to contact the seller through Amazon because I didn’t get around to setting it up for a few months and now I am out of the return policy time.
