The pole ended up snapping where the crack was. The box that it came in was in pretty good shape, so it lead me to the conclusion that the pole was damaged before packaging, or from the manufacturer. Was very excited about this tent, I will be returning item, and I am now skeptical on purchasing this brand again, or even getting a replacement. I heard many good things about MSR, and have used there product before. I hope this was just a one off issue, and hope the seller is reasonable.
