Review: It's bamboo - way better and better looking than plastic - plus the price is just to drool over - They are wood. It states not to be washed or submersed for long periods. Oil them when you get them. Better yet, oil them, and leave submerged or in a ziplock with oil over night. Will last longer. We purchased them wit the intention to be used for cutting everything except raw meat (due to lack of proper sanitation in the dishwasher we will keep the chicken etc off of it) That being said, we do have plastic liners for that - but for the most part we use the plastic cutting boards for that - and thee ones for veggies, fruits, cheeses etc. Do the world a favour - Do Bamboo - lets keep the plastic of the landfills Disclaimer: I purchased and use this product. I am under no obligation to leave a positive review and receive no incentives or rewards for doing so. As such, the discounted price DID NOT persuade my review. I am a very descriptive person and any words used above are my own personal experience with the product. Review: Excelentes tablas - No he dejado de usar estas tablas todos los dias desde hace 2 meses y todas lucen excelentes. Las compre por $189 y no me han dejado abajo ya que no guardan olores, son muy fáciles de limpiar y las ralladuras apenas y se notan. Ademas de eso me gusto mucho que las puedes usar como "plato" para bocadillos ya que lucen muy elegantes y son faciles de transportar ademas de ligeras. Otro punto a favor es que requieren POCO mantenimiento, se lavan de vez en cuando con cloro o vinagre para desinfectarla por picar carne cruda o vegetales (se recomienda no picar carne cruda y vegetales en la misma tabla o poner la carne ya cocida) regularmente solo usar agua caliente con jabon jabon y es muy importante SECARLAS para mantener su buen estado. Tambien uso un poco de aceite de oliva para lubricarlas y lo hare cada 4 meses aproximadamente. Buena compra por el precio.

**Q: dose bambo absorb juices from raw chicken and beef?**
A: absorb no, my wife cooks and I clean. When she does the raw chicken and beef on the bambo cutting boards the juices wash off easily. I am a bit anal when it comes to the bacteria so it's very hot water, bacteria soap. Some times bleach if the board has been left out for awhile. Like all cutting boards after heavy or long time usage knife grooves happen but that's what's so impressive with the hard wood bamboo which we have had several months now. Those knife marks are not there as far as our eyes can see, maybe under a microscope you may see scratches. So that's my opinion and i'm stickin to it.

**Q: Don't want plastic particles in my cut up food.  But do I want the glue used in assembled wood/bamboo cutting boards?  Minute - but foreign substance**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Lightweight Bamboo Cutting Boards

These boards are thin and lightweight, just what I was looking for. I immediately hand-washed, dried and oiled them. The wood absorbed the oil in a couple of hours. The bamboo wood is hard, and cutting on it didn't mark it. They didn't warp either. I'm not sure how it would hold up to chopping bones, but I have a thicker board for that. I would buy this set again.
