**Q: will this bulb take 48 volts?**
A: yes

**Q: This says 48 volts, but a 48 volt system charges at up to 58.8 volts. Will this handle it?**
A: I couldn’t tell you, I use these bulbs in a 12v system that charges up to 15v.
I’d check with the seller.

**Q: Does this come with the socket and wires to connect to my solar controller if no were can i buy it?**
A: No wires or socket included, but you can purchase regular household bulb sockets or lamp fixtures and wire at any major hardware store.

**Q: is polarity important for lifespan of the bulb?  E.g., should positive go to the base or the center connection?**
A: That should not make a difference if we're talking about 12 volt DC bulbs. If we're talking about higher voltage AC bulbs, the key thing is to make sure the hot lead goes to the center contact, not the outer contact. That's for safety, not to extend the life of the bulb.
