## Customer Reviews

### ⭐ Doesn't live up to its billing (now with followup information...)

*by T***M on January 27, 2018*

(edit - see end for further comment and why this 2-star rating became a 1-star)I really want to like this light, but unfortunately I'm less than impressed. I definitely DO like the High-CRI characteristic of the LED. Colors don't change when they're lit up by this light (them: "Disconnect the BLUE network cable!" Me: "Umm - which one is the BLUE one???"), and that's a bigger deal then I thought that it would be when I ordered it. And it's built like a tank, especially around the LED housing. And when it works, it works pretty well - nice even dispersion, decent amount of light on the middle and high settings. But......that's where the good stuff ends. First, the thing DEVOURS batteries. I realize that it's just a dinky lil' AAA battery, but they still just - vanish. I don't know whether it's turning on in my pocket and running down, or whether there's just a constant drain from the electronics. But ultimately when you're buried behind the racks in the server room and need a light while you're staring at the maze of cables inside an overstuffed networking cabinet that was last serviced by a neanderthal network newbie you REALLY want the flashlight in your pocket to make some LIGHT when you click the button. But in the couple of weeks since I bought it this one's failed to do that EIGHT times so far (yes, I counted...). Sometimes just taking the end cap off for 10 seconds or so takes care of the problem, but most of the time I'm making my way back to my desk to grab yet another spare battery. The manual describes a lockout capability that's supposed to keep it from lighting in your pocket, but either I'm doing something wrong or the manual's cryptic "One click-Double-Triple from any mode to lock out the flashlight" instruction (yes, that's a direct quote) is less than accurate. In either event, I've never been able to make that functionality work. You caught that "taking the end cap off for 10 seconds or so" reference? Yup. It seems like the flashlight occasionally just takes a vacation and ignores the repeated clicking of the power switch. it's a lot like Windows, I think, and just needs a reboot now and then - but it's really annoying to have to do that when you need light inside that network cabinet and you need it NOW. Instead, I get to drop whatever I'm holding in my left hand (usually a network cable that I've been tracing by feel...), unscrew the tail cap, wait about 10 seconds, and put the whole mess back together. At that point it's 50-50 whether it'll be "click" and I see the light, or it's that walk back to my desk to get a new battery (or to the company's stationary cabinet - shhhh...)Oh, and "high" and "turbo" are only available when you've got a FRESH battery, and even then "turbo" (while impressive!) drops back down to "high" after just a couple of seconds, while I remember reading somewhere (sorta confirmed by the less-than-easy-to-read manual) that it's supposed to do that after about 3 minutes. Even "high" seems to drop back down to the middle setting all too soon.So because of the reliability problems and the tendency to devour batteries (I think I should own stock in Duracell...), I have to say "look somewhere else." I know that's what I'll be doing.Edit - down to one star. This morning I pulled the light from my pocket and found that it was missing the "sealing" cover over the power button. Odd, it was there when I last used it... The cover had fortunately stayed in my pocket, so I pressed it back into place (and how this light gets an IPX-8 rating with a "seal" this flimsy I've NO idea). Of course, to add insult to injury, the power button gave a nice "click" and the light gave - nothing. So I can give an enthusiastic and high recommendation for this product IF you're looking for a flashdark. If you're looking for a flashLIGHT then this isn't what you're after.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is High End Nice

*by A***D on June 6, 2018*

This thing is almost too good to be true. It beats anker in design and quality. And beats foursevens in design while matching quality as far as I can tell. Im basing this off experience with an older quark qp2ax and preon p2. Other reviews suggests a lower quality control at Manker Light. I want to order more but don't have a valid excuse yet... other than I love it and don't want to lose it, despite its low price.Reasons I LOVE this light so much... the DESIGN and THOUGHT that went into this thing are fantastic. MODES have to be well thought out or a flashlight can just be annoying to use, like the ANKER BOLDER I ordered around the same time. Who wants to cycle through 5 modes everytime they just want to use one? While you get more light and bulk for the same price, these are two different classes of light: in both quality and function. This is a PERFECT EDC light. Because...- It starts on moonlight mode everytime , and has a simple set of modes- The nice but obnoxious modes that you rarely use are out of the way in a different sub set of modes, which still end in the simple interface, and stay there, so there's no switching between a billion modes everytime.- you can choose your default moonlight between 20 freaking options!?- I love the hefty feel of it. Its bomb proof. It was heavier than expected, which I love.- perfect, removable, deep carry, reversible, and strong AMAZING pocket clip. Can't believe I saw a reviewer complaining about its strength. I NEED that or the light's gone.- The Gnurling (grippy slice grid) is aggressive enough to feel (just right), which is possible because the walls are so thick and hefty.- the type III hard anodized coating is amazing. It will wear very nicely over a very long time. It feels quality (there's a difference and you can feel it, because it doesnt feel slick, but just... nice)- the lanyard hole is super nice to have, though I won't abuse it on a key chain. It could take it but no.-The reflector has an orange peel finish, making awesome for area lighting and close up tasks.- the Nichia led is amazing to have. Not only does it render colors perfectly. It saves your night vision better than a cool white bulb and doesnt throw off your sleep with blue light, since it's a warmer hue.- the magnet is obviously neodymium goodness of some sort.- It can go in a pocket, on a belt, on a baseball cap, headlight band, lanyard, zipperpull, pocket watch pocket, tight spaces under the hood, on a plate carrier or pack, etc. The magnet, lanyard, pocket clip combo is genius in design. There is no end to how you can use this light.- It won't roll away even without the pocket clip.- the switch is quiet and feels very nice to actuate and to the touch (soft rubber).- I could keep going but I need to sleeeepI have absolutely nothing bad to say about this light (I didn't get a lemon) If I did, they have a warranty, so I'm not sure about the bad reviews. Maybe QC issues.. I got it today tho, so we'll see and I'll update if there are any issues... I seriously hope not, because I love this so much. I would expect this light to cost more because it's all around the definition of quality in a light. I'm obviously glad it didn't, because I wouldn't have bought it not having experienced it first, so no one jack up the price to what it should be...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It Works Well For AAA Battery Flashlight!!

*by E***R on March 6, 2018*

I'm Not Really A Flashlight Collecter But I Say To Myself Why Not? It's Fun Getting Packages And Cool Stuff....The Manker Is Not As Bright (White Lite) As I Thought...The Light Is More Yellow Than My Nitecore EA11 AA and My Olight S1A AA But For $20 Bucks And AAA Batteries It Does Ok So Ill Give It A 4 Star....I Didn't REALLY Want A Powerful Expensive Angle Flashlight In My Small Collection Along With My 2014 Fenix PD35 (Amazingly Powerful) I Just Wanted An Angle Lite That Works And Has Strobe And Beacon For Back Packing Walking and Biking So If I Lost It It Wouldn't Be A Big Deal Or An Expensive Loss...So It's A Keeper...Thank you Amazon For Quick Delivery and Manker Lites For Being Well Made....UPDate 1 month After Using the manker I thought was so amazing Shocked me When I went to turn it on after installing a new battery and ready For my Usual Bike Ride it Had A Super Weird Brightness to it I haven't Seen Before and (never Worked Again) I thought I put in the Wrong AAA or a Rechargeable Battery Not for the manker..I was so Upset and shocked by this (I Will Not Recommend This Flashlight to you)....I looked all over Online for this type of Flashlight Doing This and then Not working I found Nothing on manker Dying after a Month So Shoppers Be Ware.....will not buy a manker Product again....
