As foster parents we are required to keep a life book for the baby. It is SO HARD to find a baby book that doesn't mention Mommy or Daddy every where. Not every child comes into the world with a stable set of parents anxiously awaiting their arrival. Many things in traditional baby books like ultrasound pictures, letters to baby, baby showers, etc. just don't apply in all situations. It's terribly mean to leave those pages blank, and can make a child feel unwanted or insignificant when they look at their book later in life. The foster care Life Books that you can find are mostly cheap paperback books, that aren't aesthetically pleasing, and seem like they won't last. It's important for foster children to have nice baby books as a record of their lives too. This book is wonderful for foster care Life Books and would be a good option for an adoption baby book also. It's hardcover and sturdy size, good paper quality, and has a nice easy layout with generic baby prompts to fill in that don't mention Mommy or Daddy. We are very pleased, and the caseworker was so pleased also!
