Although I would have preferred to have a known brand unit, in the end, the cost advantages of the 'generic' makes were just too good to ignore. However, once it was installed, I noticed that there was no manual way to control the A/C and I was totally dependent on the remote control.I started looking around for another remote control and couldn't find anyone selling them in the UK. In the past I have avoided ordering from China simply because of the language difference and the potential problems if the item didn't arrive.I need not have worried. 7 Days after placing the order, the remote control was delivered and, apart from a very minor difference in the branding, was exactly the same as the one that came with my air conditioning unit.
