This is razor sharp out of the box, it has a nice (very plain, no frills here) handle and saya (sheath). We love it for cutting tomatoes, fruit, etc. For the price you pay, it is worth every penny.

In my opinion, there is no need for scrutiny. This little knife is great for the price. I use it to eat lunch. Great for cutting and spreading sauce, condiments, etc. If I were processing food I bulk for a prolonged period of time then obviously this is not the proper tool. Is it really from seki? Maybe. Is it a refined work of craftsmanship? No. Does it do what I need it to for a great price? Yes. Get you one and try it
