Being former Military, our old stand-by gun care product was a three in one jack of all trade that just didn't really do anything perfectly. The best lubricants are synthetic based, not the mineral oil base commonly used in ‘Gun Oil‘. We came up with our own 2 Part System. We discovered a synthetic oil that has fantastic lubrication properties, and as a side effect, offers great corrosion protection. We found a nano-lubricant that is the slickest stuff on the planet, and works perfectly well with gun metal and the polymers used in modern weapons. Perhaps the company changed the formula since MY bottle (which reads "STYX" and came straight from Crusader Weaponry). But I use this on my high-end 1911's, which have the tightest slide-to-frame fit of any pistol out there. If ANY gun was going to exhibit a failure from bad lubricant, it would be these...and again, I have had zero issues with Slipstream. Yes, the graphite nano particles separate from the carrier solution when its sits, but that's why there is a ball bearing in the bottle...you have to mix it WELL before you use it. The same thing happens with Teflon-based lubricants like CLP. They separate and must be shaken well before use. I'm guessing the folks complaining about the Slipstream are putting WAY too much product on their guns, as I have NEVER found any "dried gunk" in over 7 years of using this product. You only need to put a tiny amount on the high-friction points of contact. I apply only one drop on the rails and use a tiny paintbrush to evenly coat.With that said, I have NOT purchase the product being sold on Amazon. The Crusader Weaponry company website is now defunct, and their phone number does not go to a company voicemail, so I'm not sure who is selling this product on Amazon or if its even legit...but the Slipstream STYX that I have is awesome!! ### ⭐ Do not use! Dries out and gums up!! *by S*** on February 13, 2019* This stuff feels like a mineral oil with some sort of black "nano" particles added to it. This black additive they use gums everything up. You can see it separate from the oil and sit in the bottom of the bottle and just stick there. When you apply it the "oil" will seep somewhere and/or evaporate leaving the black sludge to dry out and turn into a black rubber cement type substance that sticks to everything. Oh and it dyes/stains everything it touches a black purple color. I put it in a smaller bottle applicator which I now want to use for products that work but I can't get this black stuff out no matter what. I hate this stuff so much that I looked it up exactly 2 years after buying it to write this review so someone else doesn't have to experience the problems that this stuff causes. Go get some slip2000 products because they work amazingly well. I have their ewl to their ewl30 and even the grease and they all perform better than anything else on all my guns, knives, and tools. ### ⭐⭐ Not worth the mess to me *by R***C on April 6, 2015* The very "nanotechnology" that they boast is their best feature, is also their main detractor for me. The nano particles are pitch black; you can see this if you put the product in a transparent container, and allow it to settle. While some will judge me as being petty and focusing on something not important, how messy a product is (or is not), is important - especially when there are competing products that are not only clean, but are actually appealing to the eye and nose (Froglube).
