The first 2 I had lasted for 10 years each and were very functional.This backpack is also very sturdy and functional. I'm happy with the purchase. I have a thick 17" gaming laptop made by Sager and it barely fit in the bag. The corners poked at the zipper and was almost pushing the teeth apart. I was held up in security each time I went through as they had to open the bag and search each time while chastising me for not taking the laptop out of the bag. They said the same thing each time, it was too thick to scan being in the bag even when the bag was properly opened.
