The FL-760A is extremely small and one of the lightest radios in the industry at just under 1 lb. It provides a frequency range of 118 to 137 MHz with a 5 watt transmitter and 11 - 33 volt power supply. The built-in 2-place VOX intercom is sensitive and perfect for small aircraft cockpits. Users can switch between frequencies with the "flip/flop" option or use scan mode to sift through 32 programmable frequencies; additionally, there is a single button relegated to the 121.50 emergency frequency only. The FL-760A now offers updates to the original: Push-to-Talk (PTT) feature and audio inputs are separate for pilot and co-pilot. Also, intercom, VOX, volume and mic gain adjustments are now conveniently programmable from the front panel. This transceiver is ideal for noisy cockpits providing very clear reception, minimal squelch, and clear output. Review: Works well, easy to install - I bought this to put in my '46 ercoupe. I've seen some complaints about noise and volume control but have not had any real issues. Other aircraft hear me loud and clear. Installation instructions are very limited but all that's necessary. I did have to do a little research to be sure I wired it correctly. Thus the 1 star deduction. I made a "mistake" when I ordered this and did not get one with pre-assembled jacks and harness. I would advise that you do that as it only costs a little more and saves a lot of time. Especially if you don't have soldering equipment. It wasn't difficult to assemble, just time consuming which is fine by me as I enjoy the tinkering. I appreciate being able to see both frequencies. The frequency swap switch can be wired to a push button so you can keep your hands on the yoke. For the money I think this is a good product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight radio that works well. Review: Excellent Value - The radio came with good documentation and I was able to make up the harness so it would operate as desired. The intercom is quite good and the vhf range is beyond what I expected. We power the radio with a 12 amp alarm battery which last a couple of months between charges and the radio doesn't seem to be overly sensitive to voltage drop as the battery wears down. One caution.... it is pretty long so be sure the space behind the panel is deep enough.
