**Q: what is the use by date?**
A: it was within date

**Q: Could some answer this question. Is this soft or hard roe?**
A: This is hard roe. I slice the contents of the tin into four round slices (more with large tin) and fry gently with a little oil. Or you can grill. Serve with toast.

**Q: Whats the difference in taste between hard and soft roe please**
A: Soft roe is best fried coated lightly with flour and one would eat it on toast (at least that is how we always had it on a Saturday supper) the hard roe I usually bake in the oven but not too long (you can deep fry is with a batter coating and serve with chips) and you can serve with whatever you fancy.  I love it.   VCod roe is only available ins January as far as I know from the fishmonger.  Happy New Year!  Hope it helps.....
