The Bushnell Equinox Z2 night vision monocular enables you to see targets more than 500 ft. away day or night with a power built-in IR illuminator. Stream live video to you mobile device and control zoom, video recording, image capture, and IR brightness directly from your mobile device

Review: Go ahead and get one. You won't be disappointed. - The scope is well-built with a solid feel to it. Bushnell didn't scrimp on quality of parts with this scope. It's super easy to use right out of the box; the controls are pretty intuitive. The two buttons on the left control power and capture images, and the "arrow pad" on the right controls the rest. The port for the USB plug and the Micro SD card are above the eyepiece/battery door. The lens cap it held on by a pretty decent tether. The worst part was the waiting; I had to wait for darkness like a little kid waiting for Christmas Morning. I finally had to take a nap and wait for darkness. This thing is pretty amazing in the dark; with the built in illuminator (850nm), I was able to get useful illumination out to 286 yards-at that point I could see the people on the walking path. With an external focused illuminator (940nm), I could see the trees at the end of the block 560 yards away-not necessarily enough to see detail, but enough to see the silhouettes of people walking on the sidewalk. The WiFi is a cool feature, but I haven't played with it enough to form an iron-clad opinion one way or the other. Battery life is abysmal,especially with WiFi and the internal illumination set to max brightness. Fortunately, with the latest firmware you can power this scope via USB.

**Q: Is the 1/4" hole on the bottom on the center of monocular for mounting purpose?**
A: Yes,  that would be a standard mount for a tripod or the like.

**Q: Will I be able to view wild life through porch screen?**
A: I think you'll find a lot of reflection from the IR illumination. You'll likely have to press it against the screen to see anything.

**Q: Can this monocular illuminate and enhance stars in the sky?**
A: Yes it does enhance stars. If you look at a dark part of the sky you will be amazed at how many stars are there that you can't see with your naked eye or a regular telescope.

**Q: In daytime mode is the viewfinder color or black and white?  And does it take color photos and video in the day?**
A: Yes to all your questions . The color is pretty amazing , ok it's not pretty but it's still amazing ! You don't take the lens cap off during the day , there's a tiny pinhole in the cover and through that it still gets clear color images , you can even stream real time video to someone elses phone . Free upgrades are even available from Bushnell . Hope that helps .

It's good quality, especially compared to the other piece of garbage "night vision cameras" out there. The battery drains quickly. Even with regular AA batteries, the camera dies in minutes. It's not as cool as it might seem. It's very zoomed in, and can't be unzoomed. That's my biggest gripe with it, and the battery life of course. It's cool to be able to see anything from 100-500 meters/yards away in pitch black conditions, but other than that, it's not really worth it. I got it for $100, so I'm not too mad over it, but if I payed the full $400, I would be pissed.
