Getting full speed from my 1TB mechanical HDD. I had to dig out a 12v 1A DC adapter from my cables drawer. Alo works with DVDRW drives so long as you use a DC power adapter.

A good small piece of kit but Sent me normal USB 3 not Type C i recently upgraded my laptop to an SSD and realised afterwards I hadn't copied everything I needed from the old drive. I ordered this it arrived quickly, I plugged it in all my files was there. I dual boot Windows and Linux and the drive was correctly detected in both in fact, due to the limitations of Windows it worked even better in Linux, will all partitions being mounted immediately. I just have to find a 12v DC adapter to see if it will work whit a 3.5 harddrive.
