so amazing, And a fan of Bob Yeazels guitar work
I became the lead singer for this group 2 years later in 1972, so I was aware of this album but could not get it till now. I v'e always been so jealous of David Raines vocals, so amazing, And a fan of Bob Yeazels guitar work. The whole group live was so in sync and tight. this album brings back great memories of that time, late 60's early 70's, Move Mountain was my favorite song Beast ever played, Communication and Don't You Think it's Time are very good and defined this group.

Love this Beast
I had this album on Tape back in the 70's. This is the first time I've seen it on CD, so I jumped on itconsidering my Tape died 35 years ago. After all this time, Beast is a great nostalgia trip to my youth, and really a great band. The recording quality is on par with anything from 1969, and you get some imaginativesong writing with thoughtful lyrics. What a mix of sounds: Rock, Pop, Country, Psych, Funk,World Music, Big Band!If you like late 60's bands like Incredible String Band, Country Joe and the Fish, Iron Butterfly, Chicago TransitAuthority, or Blood,Sweat and Tears, break out the Patchouli and give Beast a Spin...

"Beast" a Denver Colorado band, 1969
Here's more from the net:"Beast-S/T-1969 US":Based in Denver, Colorado, this outfit played Eastern influenced psychedelic music. Their first album, "Beast", is melodic and mellow with sophisticated arrangements dominated by the flute and trumpet. A couple of songs have soul influences. The best tracks are the hypnotic "Floating", "Santo Domingo" and "When We Rise", which features some good guitar work.Bob Yeazel had previously been with the Denver group The Super Band and dring a short stint in Los Angeles had played on the third West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band album. Bob Yeazel and Larry Ferris went on to play in Sugarloaf. Kenny Passarelli would later play with Joe Walsh's Barnstormer, Tommy Bolin, Steven Stills, Elton John, Hall and Oates, etc.Members:Bob Yeazel -Lead GuitarLarry Ferris -DrumsKenny Passarelli -Bass ,HarmonicaDominick Todero-TrumpetDavid Raines-Lead SingerGerry Fike-OrganMichael Kerns-Flute,Saxophones

Interesting -would like to know more about them.
An interesting band - sort of jazzy - a sort of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Songs are OK - no hit singles here - but interesting just the same. Minimal info with the CD, which is a shame. My guess is that they were pretty damn good "live" - but it's just a guess.

Nice late 60s gentle music
Another band that sounds a lot like Love. Very pleasant poppy physchedelia ( spelling). Flutes and gentle keyboards and easy listening music. Get your flowers out and sit back and just drift
