2 1/2" x 10' Clear Flex Hose

The hose is a good hose and is heavy enough for most home shop applications. I am using it for dust collection from disc, belt, and spindle sanders. It is fairly flexible even at cooler temperatures, it was 50 in my shop when i installed the hose and had no issues with flexibility. I might even consider getting another one to replace my shop vac hose, its less expensive and just as flexible, though this hose does seem to be a little thinner material than the shop vac hose, however it is a dust collection hose.

I like it. fits over 2" PVC. does not fit over blast gate. you have too use a coupler. I used a cut off piece from my vac hose that fit in the blast gate, then the hose.

UPDATE 05/15/2014: The jury has returned and the verdict is: I hate this hose. I gave it 3 stars in my original review and now I'm reducing it to 1 star. The 2 1/2" adapters I mentioned in my initial review only barely fit. It takes way too much force to insert them and with almost no effort, they pop right off. The snap-out/snap-in nature of the hose it just annoying. It just won't go where I want it and stay put. When the hose coils snap shut, a flap of clear plastic protrudes into the ID, making it impossible to insert a fitting and inhibiting air flow. I was so put out that I bought a 15' length of 'normal' 2 1/2" clear flex hose and I an much happier with it.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ordered this hose to use with my shop dust collection system, thinking I would be receiving the item shown in the Amazon photo: a clear, flexible plastic hose about 10' long. What I got was something very different.The hose that Peachtree is now selling is what I would call a 'snap open', 'snap closed' hose. It it's collapsed state it is about 32" long. When you pull on it, the coils snap open, one by one. You can open as many as you want, at any place along the length of the hose. Fully extended, my hose measured just over 11 feet long.The ID of the hose is difficult to measure. When collapsed, I measured approximately 2.4". I was not able to get the hose ID over the OD of my 2 1/2" X 4" adapters, which measure 2.535". I was able to use a  Woodstock W2046 2-1/2-Inch Hose Adapter for W2049 Cyclone Separator  from Amazon that measures 2.480" OD on one end and 2.244" on the other. The large end of this adapter can be pushed into the ID of the hose and the small end will fit in a typical 2 1/4" shop vac port or in the ID of a 2 1/2" x 4" adapters. If you buy this hose, I suggest you get 2 of these adapters, one for each end.I gave the hose only 3 stars because it isn't the product depicted in the photos and it's a bit difficult to use. I do like the fact that it is sort of self-storing. If the hose were fully 10' long all the time, in some situations I would either have to cut it or deal with the excess hose. With the 'snap out' design, I can pull out only the amount of hose I need for a given situation. I have no idea whether the hose will lose this ability over time.For me, the jury is still out on this hose. I would have preferred a more typical hose, but I am willing to give this one a try and see how it goes. I will update the review then I have more experience with it.

Good sturdy hose, nice to be able to see the material flow through it. My only concern is how well it will hold up over time since it does lay on the floor when using my table saw.Time will tell. So far so good.

I have a new drum sander and needed a 2 1/2" hose to connect it to my new dust collector and this hose was just what I needed. It is very flexible but also strong. I will be purchasing a couple more of these soon.

Works great on his shop vac. Recommend it for sure....

this is the hose i have been looking for . this is great hose . light .flexable easily stay in place and connects to fittings.will easily take a shpe and stay there. fast del. thank you peachtree.
