Sometimes original is better
The hose my WP100t ruptured so what did I do? I went to Amazon and ordered a cheaper knockoff of the original. It works for batteries and charge cables and so much more. In this case it worked, sort of. Unit came in a padded bag and a cellophane bag inside. There were no instructions so I didn't know to look for the reed valve but I either missed it or didn't get one. Installing the hose (with the original reed valve that I found inside the base) wasn't hard to figure out. Next problem. The shape of the part that goes into the base is not the same as the original. It's missing a plastic ridge that helps to seat the reed valve. Nevertheless the unit work, sort of. With the Aquaflosser hose I lost at least a 1/4-1/3 of the pressure and I'm a pressure freak. I BLAST those gums. I used it as it was, bit the bullet and ordered directly from WaterPik. With shipping it was about twice as much but it came well packed, WITH instructions and a new reed valve in it's own little plastic bag. Installed it and the pressure returned to normal. All told, even with the false start renewing the machine was about a third of buying new. Why didn't I return it? Well, it does what they say it does. It fits the machine and pushes water out. Also I live in L.A. so getting it to a return center a lot of driving and at the one closest to me, 20 minutes each way. You have to pay to park.

Adequate replacement
I went through two OEM (original and replacement) handles and each one lasted about 3 years. In both cases hose cracked at the base of handle. I wanted to buy another OEM replacement but price doubled in three years which did not make sense so I decided to try generic one i.e. this one to save some money. It looks similar to original but some parts made from lower quality plastic, coil has smaller radius and hose is thinner and more flexible. So in general it feels having lower quality than OEM one but it works okay. Keeps pressure high so I have no issues with pressure as some complained . There are no leaks either. It feels less substantial than OEM though. So as a generic replacement it works okay. Its allright but on the other hand - does it worth saving $5 in the long run? Will it last as long as OEM handle or even longer? We will see after 3 years.

An OK Replacement Part
This handle installs easily. As other reviewers have commented, it appears that this handle provides reduced water pressure compared to the original Waterpik handle but the pressure seems to be adequate for me.Other reviewers have complained that the plastic unit that attaches to the Waterpik is flimsy and breaks easily. I submit that these reviewers have over-tightened the attachment screws and thereby broken the plastic unit. However, a prudent approach would be to keep the plastic unit from the old handle to serve as a replacement part if necessary.

Pressure is about 60% of original
This replacement handle and hose assembly differed from the original in the following ways: The new hose is much softer and pliable, the new hose has a crimped bend about 2 inches from the handle, the attachment screws for the connector to body are less robust with a smaller head, the attachment connector is formed differently on the inside than the original.I thought any of these could be causing the low pressure. I tried using the new handle and hose with the original connector, but that didn't help. I also tried heating the crimp with a hair dryer so I could reshape it and allow better water flow.My conclusion was that the softer hose is expanding too much as the water pulses through it, causing a good percentage of energy/pressure loss by the time it gets to the head. I wasn't able to replace the hose to test this theory though. What I was able to do was to buy a a replacement from Waterpik's website for only a few dollars more. Problem solved, Le$$on learned.

Good and very simple replacement
Good priced replacement and very simple to install. It does come with two screws and a reed valve if you need them. I didn't use them as the original screws were longer and stainless while the newer ones were zinc so they might rust. I also didn't change the reed valve as mine worked so I'll keep this as an extra.I've had this waterpik for a few years. The pause button started to get stuck quite along time back but the hose finally failed recently and I didn't want to replace the entire unit. I've already replaced the battery on the toothbrush. Just a bit of knowledge can save you having to replace things that are perfectly fine.

Replacement for a faulty part
The handle/wand wasn't like the original - has a "pause" button vice an on/off slider switch for the water coming out but was the closest to the model number I have. Hose seems to be the same type as the original which will probably break again at some point which is why I ordered 2 of these. The hose is the weak link of WaterPik products having gone through a number of them, they break or sprout a hole hear the handle. WaterPik should really address this quality control issue. As for the replacement product, easy to install and got me back in business.

So far so good.
My old hose started breaking, had gotten brittle. I kept it going for year or two with some spare silicone tubing. Then it became completely brittle and delicate. I didn't like the price from waterpik. I was happy to find this kit. I noticed the old reed valve when I started to work on it. Got it out and the new one in. Pressure and function now seem like new. The bottom of the waterpik leaks a bit, it already was. I'm very happy with this for now, I just hope it lasts.

Mediocre at best
Well it works. It was easy to install, everything went smoothly and fit together. But, the pressure is not the same, it is decreased. The nice fine stream of water I used to get is now not as powerful. I used the same wand so it must have a slightly fatter cord; I don't know what else it could be. Is it as effective? I won't know until I go back to the dentist. Also, the handle does not seat correctly in the holder, it is always falling out which is pretty annoying. I have the WP-660 model and it is supposed to be compatible with that model. I would not recommend it.
