Nice tool!
Handle is comfortable enough, good construction overall so far. Have used to part off & do some fine shaping on a dozen or so bowls/gnomes/mushrooms on my nova comet 2. Not sure if it'd be quite big enough size to feel right on a full sized lathe, but on my little nova it's perfect. I'll probably pick up a 1/8 as well. The bevel can benefit from some love before first use and periodically after. Used 400 grit belt on the grinder, then 1000 & 5000 stone, followed up by coarse & fine on the strop, then doctoring on the strop periodically. Took 10 minutes to tune it the first time, super easy quick maintenance since.Highly recommend.

reliable quality
I already have a Sorby 1/4 inch parting tool, but I bought this second one for my son, who is new to turning. Sorby makes good quality turning tools. This standard parting tool can easily be kept sharp on just a stone or with a grinder. It is simpler to sharpen than one with a diamond cross section.

As with all Sorby tools, this parting tool is well made, well balanced and contains good steel.

Good quality tool with fantastic HSS steel.
This is a great quality lathe tool but it is a bit too wide for me. Next time I'll order a 1/8 inch parting tool.

This is a solid and simple tool, should last my lifetime.
I bought the 1/4” parting tool for turning Windsor Chair legs and general spindle turning.Works as intended, not the first Robert Sorby turning tool I’ve bought. You could buy a more expensive and modern tool but for me and what I do I find them to be a quality tool at a decent price.

Most bang for the buck
Does what it’s supposed to do. Sorby tools are the most bang for the buck you can get in my opinion.

Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
High quality steel sharp right out of the box. Sorby tools are expensive and worth it. Highly Recommend.
